Whilst on the topic of colour ringed birds, please could everyone keep eyes open for colour ringed Curlew (four colours, two on each leg above the joint), Coot (white ring below the joint on left leg with three digits) and neck-collared Greylag (or other) geese (orange or white collars with three digits). Again please send me as much detail as possible and I will try my best to find out the bird's origins. It is important to report such sightings to the BTO for statistics, species movements, longevity etc. which I will undertake to do.

Please can anyone looking at Copgrove Lake, check the Little Egrets there for colour rings - usually one on each leg above the joint, one letter per ring. Please send me the details and I'll do my best to find out their origins.
We've had birds from Norfolk, Notts, Anglesey and Teesside in the Society's area over the last five years and of course, the ringers like to hear where "their" birds have been sighted!
